About Me

State Representative Randy Vulakovich
(R-Allegheny County)

A lifelong citizen of Allegheny County who cares deeply about the same issues and traditional values that the more than 60,000 residents of the 30th District care about, Representative Randy Vulakovich was elected to serve in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in November 2006.

Vulakovich has been appointed to serve on the PA House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness, Aging and Older Adult Services, Gaming Oversight and Environmental Resources and Energy Committees for the 2011-12 Legislative Session.

Known to many throughout the community as simply “Officer V,” Vulakovich has dealt with a wide variety of demanding situations and valuable life and leadership experiences thanks to his 27 years of dedicated service as a sergeant with the Shaler Township Police Department, including six years serving as the public school instructor in the nationally recognized anti-drug and life-skills D.A.R.E. program.

Ever-mindful of the tremendous responsibility that accompanies any position of authority, he is looking forward to applying the same “stay-the-course” philosophy and honest, open and positive communication style that were integral to his success as a law enforcement officer to becoming a fair, principled and effective state lawmaker.

To that end, Vulakovich is strongly committed to fighting for the following platform of family values, fiscally conservative and faith-based initiatives that accurately reflects his respect for the needs and personal beliefs of his constituents:
  • Cutting taxes, government waste and frivolous spending to allow taxpayers to keep more of their hard-earned money.
  • Providing true school property tax and business tax reform.
  • Standing up for pro-life principles, family values and other faith-based initiatives.
  • Enacting meaningful state government reforms to restore public trust.
  • Supporting a smaller, more-efficient government that allows for greater free market economic growth and fosters family-sustaining jobs.
  • Ensuring support for police, fire and EMS services.
  • Keeping Second Amendment rights “Second to None” in Pennsylvania and protecting our children through strong Jessica’s Law and tough anti-drug/enforcement legislation.
  • Protecting the services and benefits for veterans, older Pennsylvanians and people with disabilities.
  • Reforming Pennsylvania’s health care system through strong transparency legislation in the medical, pharmaceutical and health insurance sectors and providing appropriate, effective and affordable care that is fair and beneficial to every recipient.
Representative Vulakovich resides in Shaler Township with his wife “Bobbie.”  They have been married for 35 years and have two wonderful children, Stacy and Randy Jr.

The 30th District includes the following Allegheny County communities: Fox Chapel Borough and the townships of Hampton, O’Hara, Ross and Shaler.
